WSP is currently initiating a search for an Industrial Engineer/ Facility Design Specialist I for our Newark, NJ office. This position reports to the Manager, Rail Facilities East, within WSP's Transit & Rail Technical Excellence Center. The selected individual will be responsible for providing Full Time architectural / engineering and technical expertise for FFD's fleet operations and vehicle maintenance facility design practice. The selected candidate will be supporting WSP's clients engaged in the procurement, maintenance and operation of fleets employing all modes of vehicle technologies including rail, transit bus, BRT, battery / zero electric vehicles, EVTOL, public works vehicles and equipment. Experience in transit and zero emmision vehicles and associated specifications, standards, and recommended practices would be a plus.













**Duties and Responsibilities:**












+ Support WSP's engineering staff in preparing design documents, calculations, drawings and specifications fleet operations and vehicle maintenance facilities





+ Traveling to transit facilities, primarily in the United States (with some international travel)





+ Workflow/job analysis





+ Building and vehicle maintenance equipment layouts





+ Vehicle maintenance and operating equipment selection/specification





+ Inter-disciplinary design coordination of industrial operational requirements





+ Assist in preparation and editing of reports, design criteria documents, drawings (site,





+ Perform billable work and other tasks as assigned and best fits training and ability

# Job Requirements

**Minimum Qualifications:**












+ While the role does not have a requirement for minimum years of experience, it does require a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely-related field





+ Projects are typically fast paced and have durations ranging from several days to several years. Must be able to multi-task and work with others in a fast paced environment to meet our client's needs





+ Good communication and superior writing skills





+ Will be assisting on various Fleet & Facilities group projects. This is not a hire for any specific project. The position is intended to be long term and will provide ample opportunity for professional growth and interface with major public agencies and design firms across the country





+ This position will be involved in a wide range of projects including transit, public works, military, and school maintenance facilities and provide the opportunity to work on major public projects with construction budgets of $5M to $500M





+ Domestic travel (approximately 25% of time) will be required.













**Preferred Qualifications**












+ AutoCAD, Revit, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is desired





+ The ability to work in this country immediately is required
