This role is part of our Engineering team supporting our internal Continuous Integration and Development systems and tooling. You will be responsible for ownership of our server delivery pipeline and working with our internal operations team to deliver product to customers. This role is specifically focused on triaging, debugging, and maintaining our Jenkins CI systems in the datacenter and AWS, our build pipeline, supporting our development team, and working with the pipeline tooling team. Building and Supporting a modern, container based, and fully automated delivery system for multiple services with a growing team Day to day support, triaging, and debugging of our build pipeline Working closely with server development teams to support their evolving needs Collaborating with our Operations team which provides the tooling and coordination with external teams Looking for ways to improve and speed our overall delivery process Abilities you should expect to bring to this role: Resourcefulness and independence - we are often breaking new ground at Workday and working in unfamiliar territory 3+ years of Software Development Life Cycle expertise - we are primarily a group of developers who maintain delivery software. You should have strong experience building and maintaining software projects as either a Software Developer or Operations Engineer A passion around operations and a desire to improve our delivery pipeline Willingness to participate in all aspects of software ownership including development, integration, and deployment Proven experience in a programming language like Groovy, Go, Java, or Python Understanding of networks, protocols, servers, and storage systems Strong background in Linux/Unix fundamentals Proven experience with agile development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery/deployment Ability to balance spikes and MVP implementations with resilient and well tested software architecture - we leverage both regularly Strong desire to collaborate and include the broader team in decision making ? Areas you can expect to learn about: Technology: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Jenkins, Groovy, Go, Python, Ansible, Git, VMWare Using all the above to operate in large scale distributed environments with rapidly evolving software Working across multiple teams in a large organization to deliver software quickly and reliably to customers Using software to overcome traditional barriers to rapid software development in a high security environment
