The Director of Development is responsible for the planning and implementation of all fundraising efforts for Central Vermont Medical Center. This position is an integral component to achieving aspirational fundraising goals. S/he will be an active front line fundraiser, assuming responsibility for a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors. This role will be accountable for developing metrics and systems to monitor and improve fundraising performance. The Director of Development reports directly to the President and Chief Operating Officer.. Working Relationships/Contacts: The Director of Development works regularly with the President and COO and all senior staff leaders at CVMC. The Director of Development works closely with the CVMC Development Committee of the Board of Trustees. She/he interacts regularly with physicians, nurses and other clinical providers across the organization. S/he collaborates with development staff and utilizes appropriate centralized resources at UVM Health Network member institutions, participates in UVMHN philanthropy trainings and meetings, including coordinating calendars and special events.. Bachelor's degree required. CFRE or advanced degree a plus. The incumbent will have 5 plus years of relevant professional or a master's experience in a relevant area of study. Consideration where applicable, will be degree requirements with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.. Inspirational leader possessing the charisma, poise and judgment to serve as spokesperson, influencer and natural connector across diverse audiences. Proven track record in soliciting and securing major gifts through field work. Well organized and results-oriented, with excellent prioritization and follow-up skills. At least seven years professional experience in a healthcare or large community development/social service organization. Experience developing and executing short and long range prospect strategies in a capital campaign environment.
