Provides office, fiscal, and administrative program support to Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV), Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP), and other nursing and/or population health programs. Serves as Administrative Assistant for Nursing.
Inputs Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) and MIECHV data in a timely and accurate manner into the web-based information system; complies with or assists in the compilation of statistical information for special reports. Performs program support tasks such as organizing forms; photocopies; files; orders and maintains program materials and educational handouts; makes reminder calls for visits as requested by the supervisor and nurse home visitors. Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs to enter, store and/ or retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary, and summarizes data in preparation of standardized reports. Participates in community outreach activities such as distributing program brochures, retrieving client referrals as delegated by the supervisor. Maintains client records and filing according to NFP, State, and District policies and procedures. Prepares program reports. Attends and participates in team and program meetings.
Bills Virginia Medical Assistance Program (VMAP) for Medicaid Baby Care Services provided to health department clients. Interprets policies and procedures related to program eligibility and benefits.
Generates EWL (Every Womans Life) re-enrollment letters monthly. Manages and tracks accounts payable invoices for BCCEDP services.
Provides administrative support for the Long Term Support Services (LTSS) program. Following completion and DMAS approval of the Universal Assessment Instrument (UAI) used for Pre-Admission Screening, also known as ePAS, prints and assembles the approval/denial letter for mailing to client and the referral packet for mailing to the provider. Mails letter and packet to designated recipients. Files copies of the ePAS documents in the clients LTSS file.Minimum Qualifications
General knowledge of record keeping, filing, and secretarial procedures. Experience with computers and data entry with accurate and productive keyboarding skills. Clerical experience with general and/or medical office procedures. Good communication skills and ability to perform in a group setting. Computer/IT experience, including Microsoft Word & Excel.Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and secretarial training desirable. Associate or Bachelors degree in business administration or related field preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of generalized accounting principles with good mathematical and analytical skills. Knowledge of VDH programs and computer applications such as WebVISION desirable. Desire candidate with high level experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Training, education, and/or experience in financial information processing, bookkeeping, accounting, finance, and/or business management beneficial.Special Requirements
