Job DescriptionThe Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF) is an affiliate organization of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Foundation and the primary fund-raising arm of the Athletics Department of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The RCAF Executive Director's role is to fulfill the purpose of the RCAF as specified in the Articles of Incorporation and as instructed by the Board of Directors and Division of University Advancement. The Executive Director is responsible for planning and executing the Athletics Department's philanthropic program in keeping with the University's strategic goals and priorities.. The RCAF Executive Director reports to the Office of Development and works under the direction of the University's Director of Athletics and Board of Directors. The position has management responsibilities for athletic development professionals who, together with the Executive Director, are responsible for achieving annual and campaign fundraising goals. The Executive Director is responsible for directly identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding alumni, friends and organizations focusing on gifts of $100,000 and above.. Responsibilities: The Executive Director is responsible for managing his/her portfolio of prospective donors and reaching both individual and team annual performance goals and metrics. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:. Develops and manages long and short-term strategies, budgets and organizational structures to carry out the mission of the RCAF and support priorities of the University's Athletics Department.. Works with the RCAF Board Chair and Executive Committee to facilitate the deliberations of the RCAF Board of Directors, including setting the agendas for the board and committee meetings.. Assures the RCAF operates within the limitations of its constitution and bylaws, tax exempt status, and all applicable NCAA, University, and UL System policies.. Oversees the management of lease/contractual agreements in which the RCAF is Lessor.. Serves the University's Athletics Department in an advisory role in its evolving athletic ticketing environment and other revenue generation goals. Fosters strong collaboration with operations staff to strengthen donor services efforts and premium seat sales.. Effectively manages RCAF staff including hiring, metrics development, evaluation, mentoring and professional development.. Successfully manages a portfolio of prospects, working in concert with other Office of Development professionals to identify, cultivate, and solicit philanthropic support by establishing and maintaining relationships with donors.. Travels locally, regionally and nationally to meet with and qualify prospective donors based on their ability and inclination to make gifts; Execute moves management strategies effectively towards a goal of solicitation; Prepare and enters call reports in a timely manner.. Negotiates gifts in accordance with adopted gift acceptance policies and procedures; Provide appropriate stewardship and follow through once gifts are made.. Leads the development of fundraising/campaign goals, strategies, materials, case statements, and brochures; prepare detailed campaign reports for board and leadership.. Creates new and evaluates existing fundraising opportunities (mini campaigns, giving days, events, etc.).. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in major gift development. Preferred qualifications include experience in capital campaigns, closing gifts of $100,000 or more, metric development, athletics annual fund operations, premium seating sales, and working with sports programs and head coaches. Sound judgment, integrity, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, staff management, and the ability to think strategically are essential. Demonstration of excellent board and volunteer management is preferred. The Director must be able to utilize technology including the Microsoft Suite and donor database. Travel, including frequent after-hours and weekend work required..
