Requisition Number: 18545 Location: Boulder, Colorado Employment Type: Research Faculty Schedule: Full-Time Close All Job Summary The University of Colorado High Energy Physics Group has an available position for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the CMS experiment. The CU faculty involved in CMS are John Cumalat, Bill Ford, Kevin Stenson, Keith Ulmer, and Steve Wagner. The group currently participates in tracker operations, track reconstruction development, and a variety of physics analyses including searches for supersymmetry in multijet final states, searches for new physics utilizing boosted Higgs signatures, and measurements of rare Z decays. The group is currently involved in Phase 2 upgrade work on track reconstruction and pixel sensor and electronics R&D and is beginning work on aspects of the Phase 2 Level 1 trigger upgrade related to charged particle tracking. Who We Are The University of Colorado High Energy Physics Group What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be The candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the group's activities on the Phase 2 pixel detector upgrade, as well as data analysis related to searches for physics beyond the standard model. What You Should Know The successful candidate would be initially based in Boulder in order to take on a lead role in managing the sensor testing for the pixel detector, but travel is to be expected. Candidates must have a PhD in Particle Physics or a closely related field.
