This position is part of the QuEST Special Operations Team, which is responsible for leading a quality transformation as well as day to day execution of our quality operating model, systems strategy, standardization of metrics, reporting and analytics and leading various quality initiatives which align with the new mission and vision of QuEST. Individuals within the QuEST Special Operations Team are ultimately responsible for effective collaboration, communication, problem solving, change management, and innovation at both the executive level as well as with front line staff - we serve as change agents tasked with developing a culture of identifying constituent pain points (people, process, technology) and implementing opportunities to improve the constituent experience. Quality Systems Consultants will assist the QuEST Product Owner in leading the business strategy and development for a new audit and real-time process monitoring system that will provide actionable insights and root cause analysis to the UnitedHealthcare Benefit Operations enterprise. The systems consultant will work with management and subject matter experts to assess current state processes and create process flow diagrams, requirementsuser story documentation and user acceptance criteria. This position will be responsible for the delivery of product features and developing transformative capabilities for our constituents across the Quality and Benefit Operations organizations. Primary Responsibilities Act in a consultant role for interdepartmental team efforts implementing new capabilities and updates to production systems Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements, translating them into operational plans, projects, and enhancements to QuEST systems Serve as a liaison between internal business partners and other 3rd parties including Optum Technology and Vendor delivery partners to transform business requirements into system features, functional specifications and user stories Document business processes and supporting work-flows as they relate to current and future state systems capabilities developing a deep understanding of customer and product needs Promote and drive Agile development methodology throughout the teams, providing direction and support to development and quality assurance teams Define, prioritize, and drive realization of our product vision Accountable for the product backlog and prioritization of user stories with business team and delivery partners Partner with Business, IT and Vendor resources to review specifications and coordinate approvals Develop acceptance criteria, test strategies and manage user acceptance testing efforts Actively manages andor leads Product Backlog grooming sessions, retrospectives, defect management and project team-s release planning sessions Manage portfolio of projects end to end, ensuring all BA deliverables are met Solve moderately complex problems andor conducts moderately complex analyses Act as a resource for others with less experience, providing training and mentorship to team members as well as business partners Provide regular updates to leadership about projects and improvement efforts Perform other duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the company and department Additional Skills Understands quality metrics and concepts and can articulate to others their importance Effectively breaks down barriers to maintain progress on initiatives Is diplomatic with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills Adeptly adjusts to changing circumstances quickly and professionally Able to make quick decisions when clarification or modification is needed Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with both technical and business audiences Demonstrates strategic thinking by using appropriate information to diagnose problems, identify possible solutions and collaborate with impacted groups to drive decisions Able to drive detailed solutions to completion with minimal oversight Is detail oriented and obsessively organized Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience 5+ years of related, increasingly responsible experience which includes Experience with Product Owner, Project Management and or Business Analysis including gatheringdocumenting of business requirements, process maps andor UAT Experience working within an SDLC (system development life cycle) methodology including any of the following Agile, Waterfall, Smart BPM, RSA AND experience managing issues, risks and decision logs 3+ years of experience using Lean Principles and Six Sigma tools, including value stream mapping and control charts 2+ years of advanced experience of statistical computations and population sampling Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications 2+ years leading teams of 3 or more (directly or indirectly) Experience working with Quality related systems andor real-time data processes, preferably in a manufacturing environment Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Microsoft Project experience PMP or PMI-ACP certification Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
