Summary-- Travel RN Medicine Health ServicesUnit (MHSU) University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, CO
Provides direct patient care using the nursing process inaccordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with thepolicies, values, and mission of the organization.
Travel RN for MHSU Medicine Health Services Unit.
2 years' recent / current / like Med Surg RN InpatientAcute Med Surg experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred. Please confirm BSN is complete.

· Plans,implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment tooptimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
· Monitors,records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
· Collaboratesas needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patienttransfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
· Evaluateslearning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family educationappropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
· Effectivelydelegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses andnew hires.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills,decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must beable to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. FollowsStandard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program if lessthan three (3) years' experience.
6 months nursing experience (in an inpatient acute hospitalsetting)
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and any relevantunit specific certification requirement.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the AmericanRed Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before startdate. BLS or CPR card must be goodthrough sixty days of hire. All lifesupport certification cards must be issued by either the American HeartAssociation or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.(American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and allrenewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
· Bachelor'sDegree in Nursing strongly preferred
· Experiencein a teaching/academic hospital
· Two yearstravel RN experience
· Two years RN experience recent / current /like experience
