Location/Division Specific InformationThe person in this role will be based at our Franklin, MA site. This site manufactures products supporting environmental monitoring, process monitoring, and food safety. The site reports into the Chemical Analysis Division with the divisional leadership team based out of the site. How will you make an impact?The Senior Manager of Purchasing & Production Planning is responsible for developing a site strategy for production planning simplifying the overall purchasing process. The person in this role will be a key partner to the site sourcing team and divisional sourcing team supporting implementation of strategies. This individual will be a partner with our suppliers ensuring and managing quality, cycle/response time, risk, and total cost. In this role, you will collaborate and help develop targeted improvement plans with for product availability, working capital optimization and productivity improvement and will follow-up until implementation is complete. You will be accountable for annual improvements in the company??s Product availability (LIFR/OTIF), Customer Allegiance Score (CAS) for Order Fulfillment and inventory days of supply (DOS). The successful candidate for this role is a dynamic leader with a track record as an effective communicator and uses a collaborative approach to problem solving. Travel expectation will be 10% periodically. What will you do? Develops and drives the Purchasing & Production Planning vision for, with and through the stakeholder community Delivers on key objectives (Annual Operating Plan - AOP), delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth commitments Assures compliance to regulatory requirements Partner with the SIOP Manager to drive process efficiencies supporting customer experience and inventory targets Drives competitive advantage by partnering with Category Managers, R&D, Engineering to deliver annual value improvements Responsible for the coordination of the business projects (e.g. M&A integration, make or buy, vendor transition), monitoring execution and communicating results to senior leaders. Ensures alignment with business stakeholders Ensures category strategies support driving materials and products to low cost regions aligning with manufacturing strategies Ensures early engagement with New Product Development Serves as escalation point of contact for Procurement & Production Planning Consolidates, analyzes and reports on metrics for business reviews Supports the development and implementation of common processes, standardized work, use of tools and technologies Maintain plan attainment and schedule adherence metrics along with maintain past due work order performance Establish mechanisms to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business results, including leading indicators which will serve as early warning signs of problem performance Develop a talent acquisition strategy to continuously drive improvement through the function How will you get here? Education A Bachelor??s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management discipline or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred Experience A minimum of 6 years of work experience, which includes at least 3 years of past leadership experience. Progressively responsible career path in manufacturing operations and procurement with significant practical experience in international settings. Strong production planning and/or purchasing background. Strong business acumen and problem solving capabilities. Proven track record with a continuous improvement methodology (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma). APICS certification is strongly preferred. SAP, Infor XA ERP experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders Significant business acumen and proven team building skills Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to confidently present complex information Results oriented, metrics driven leader with a root cause, permanent fix approach, continuous improvement approach.
