How will you make an impact?

This position will partner with functional, regional, global, and group leaders; serve as primary operational owner under the Sr. Director, Global Field Service Sciences. This responsibility includes end-to-end strategic planning, with an emphasis on operational leadership, process improvement, and indirect people leadership. This role integrates & influences functional groups from Commercial Operations, Escalation Support, Operations, Project Management Office, Supply Chain, and Training to align with Field Service vision.

What will you do?

  • Process Improvement:Drive global standardization of Field Service way-of-working to ensure end-to-end process delivers on its goalsLeverage PPI Business System (Lean/Six Sigma) support through program governance at the sub-regional level. Utilize standardized tools for upwards visual management.Partner with Supply Chain, Customer Service and other function to ensure program/project success.Responsible for business outcomes even when he or she does not own the resources, executing at the transactional level.
  • Global Operational Manager:Create constant, reliable measurement of the proper metrics and KPIs needed to benchmark and optimize performance on an ongoing basis.Execute large strategic cross functional initiatives as needed at the appropriate levels using strategy deployment, Parent A3s, Project A3s and KPI or TTI Bowlers.Facilitate & Enable the implementation of PPI Business System activities across the global management teamExhibit the ability to dive deep into processes that have material impact on the most crucial business outcomes, analyze large sets of data, and determine metrics to measure the desired outcomes.
  • People LeadershipIndirectly influence and empower Field Service team to develop short & long-term projects, action-plans, and strategies.Gain alignment to support Field Service goals by integrating self in multiple different departments, business units, and levels of management.Drive global customer-centric solutions leveraging connections and relationshipsBuild global Field Service team s abilities in core foundations: 4i Leadership qualities, Commercial resilience, Customer-centric model, Digital Service, and PPI Business Systems.
  • How will you get here?
  • Education/Experience

  • B.S degree in STEM required with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Technical Service or Service Support organization
  • Successful program/project management experience; preferably globally
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient Project Management, leadership and presentation skills with strong written and verbal communication skills; must have a professional working proficiency in English
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and business teams;
  • Understand P&L business drivers and influencers
  • Manage programs and projects with teams that have members with conflicting viewpoints
  • Capable of developing business cases, clear risk assessments, and project charters
  • Ability to identify true root cause of issues
  • Understanding of cultural differences in a global team
  • Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • PPI / Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Must have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required
