Job Description

Our new restaurant and bar located directly on the water - Lake Huron, and overlooking Mackinac Island is seeking employees. We offer housing and above industry wages not to mention a FUN place to work.

Great opportunity for someone looking to share cooking and kitchen skill set in a fast-paced and nurturing environment. Opportunity to learn and teach; share skills with other staff and have impact on seasonal menu.

Wages are based on experience however we will train those with great outgoing personalities.
General Description:
-Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving meals to guests
-Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Prepares and serves daily buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner

-Exhibit proper food safety handling
- Execute opening/closing shift duties as needed
-Cross training is encouraged
-Set up workstations, all needed ingredients, and cooking equipment as needed
-Assists with the receipt in of food and supply orders and ensures items are shelved in an
organized manner
-Assist with opening duties and breakfast service
-Assist with lunch service as mandated by the schedule and reservation needs
-Assist with dinner service, cleanup, and nightly kitchen and dining room shut down
- Ensure and monitor that sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen
-Execute Daily Prep Lists including lists for the AM staff upon closing
-Work additional shifts if needed
-Assist with food presentation and buffet replenishment
-Assist in the cleaning of kitchen, storerooms, food preparation areas and equipment and fixtures
-located therein
- Lead by example with strong time management skills
-Adhere to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules as directed
-Ensure daily and weekly maintenance to equipment is upheld
-Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary
- Ensure and monitor that sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen, dining and
recreation rooms
-Maintains materials and equipment in good working condition.

Additional Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent is required. Pursuing a degree or certification in
culinary, cooking and/or hospitality fields. One-to-years restaurant or catering experience. College or
school credit for this experience a plus.
