The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina is seeking applicants for its full-time hourly staff position: Technical Director. The Arts Center is a not-for-profit producing and presenting organization, providing a wide variety of live entertainment experiences for the greater Hilton Head Island South Carolina region. The Arts Center collaborates with Tony and Emmy award winning artists on a continual basis. The Arts Center is a SPT7 level theater working with Actors Equity Union. Hilton Head Island and only 50 minutes from Savannah Georgia. This position is Full time with paid vacation and health benefits. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Under the direction of the VP of Production, your duties include (but are not limited to): Maintain accurate scenery department budget. Provide timely estimation of all scenic construction expenses. Communicate with designers as to the requirements of scenic designs. Draft all pertinent construction drawings. Purchase all requires scenic materials. Provide build schedule. Establish a safe working environment. Oversee scenic load in conjunction with all department heads. Direct supervision of Master Carpenter and Scene Shop Carpenter. Establish inventory process and produce accurate scenic inventory. Participant in scenic load-ins, strikes as required. Function as Warehouse Manager, Supervise over-hire scenic construction personnel. Maintain quality of scenery thru closing. Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:A good sense of humor!! The ability to work closely with other departments in a positive and constructive way. BA or MFA in Technical Production and /or a minimum of 5 years experience in a professional environment. Though knowledge of industry standard scenic construction and fabrication practices. TIG and MIG welding strongly recommended. Solid knowledge of theatrical rigging. Proficiency in AutoCAD. And/ or Vectorworks strongly desired.
