This role will support the migration of Microsoft based solutions to Amazon Web Services (AWS). DevOps experience with demonstrated experience in establishing automation solutions for AWS is a MUST for this position. As the DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing existing technologies, helping design future state, and assist in executing the roadmap for the build and deploy processes.

The role requires solid experience in cloud computing environments, hands on technical skills, passion and the desire to master new technologies. In order to be successful in this position, all eligible applicants must be excellent communicators.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Engineer and execute existing solutions from on-prem infrastructure to AWS
  • Design and build automated DevOps processes while working on the migration of large scale technology applications to AWS; preferably cloud native
  • Design build plans, assist developers with failures and manage software configurations
  • Ensure end-to-end deployments are successful and that resources come up in an automated fashion
  • Provide direction to developers with server troubleshooting and application errors related to configuration issues
  • Develop automation to replace manual solutions
  • Monitor production environment and ensure systems are stable and running properly
  • Lead production migrations and provide off-hour support when needed to troubleshoot problems with mission-critical applications
  • Work with and help bring up to speed more junior colleagues

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years of experience Windows administration and IIS management
  • 3 years of experience with AWS
  • 3 years of DevOps experience
  • Proven hands-on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery technology experience
  • AWS Certified Architect and/or Developer; Associate considered, Professional preferred
  • Experience working with Chef Automate
  • Proficient in: Bash, Chef, Powershell, XML, Web concepts and REST APIs
  • Knowledge of development methodologies and one or more of the following languages: .NET, Python, or Ruby
  • Demonstrated fundamental understanding of modern platform technologies and industry standard methodologies
  • Deep knowledge of multiple monitoring tools and how to mine them for advanced data
