Under direction of a of a higher level professional, coordinates and conducts field assessments of EHS issues in a small or small part of an organization to ensure operational activities are consistent with the needs of the organization and requirements of jurisdictional governmental regulatory agencies. Performs structured assignments that require some interpretation of data and regulations, identification of problem sources, and possible remedial actions. This is the first professional progression in this field.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Applies developed EHS procedures and tools involving only limited innovations of methodology to perform well-defined assignments
Contributes to recommendations on changes to procedures, standards, and use of equipment
Performs specific components of a larger project directed by a more senior EHS professional
Support the collection of information to be provided to external jurisdictional governmental regulatory agencies
Collaborates with affected employees to potential EHS risks and aspects
Proposes revisions to programs, policies and equipment specifications

2-year associates degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering, life/physical science discipline
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Up to 2 years of EHS field experience.
Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
Work surfaces may include concrete.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
