Trouble cutting and pasting your resume into the window provided
1. Copy the resume from your text document (example: MS Word) by opening/viewing the document and selecting Edit - Select All from the menu bar, then Edit, Copy.
2. Go back to the enrollment page where you want to paste the resume.
3. Click into the Resume text box. You will see your curser blinking in the box.
4. Go to the menu bar at the top of the browser and select Edit, Paste. This will put the resume into the text area.
5. View what you have pasted and make sure it is visible within the limits of the box

How your resume looks in the text box is not necessarily how it will look when an employer views it. Be sure to align the bullets, tabs and spacing to ensure a well-formatted view for the recruiters.
Using HTML when formatting your resume within the text box
Do not use HTML when submitting your resume. Your resume will be viewed by recruiters with widely varying screen dimensions, including handheld mobile devices. Your resume might be converted into straight ASCII text and imported into a database or resume management software.
Targeting your job search
You can fine tune your job search by using specific keywords in the Keyword Search. If these keywords are in any part of a job, the search will return those jobs.

Selecting more than one choice in a list box
To select multiple choices in a drop down box, hold down the CTRL (\"Control\") key while clicking the options with the mouse. Use the SHIFT key if you're using a Macintosh.
Printing your resume
When you are reviewing your resume, click into that frame. From your browser's menu, select 'File' and 'Print - only selected frame.'

Job Description:
The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's Evening Programs department is seeking talented actors, interpreters, storytellers, and musicians to join our new African American Music ensemble for male and female candidates. This new interpretive team will present authentic renditions of work songs, religious songs, and traditional African music to educate and enlighten our guests. The program will convey the importance music played as a survival mechanism in the lives of 18th century African slaves. It will explore the hidden meanings in the songs and dances of our ancestors and will inspire a sense of hope and resiliency. In order to help guests better understand the history and weight of these songs and dances, guests will often be encouraged to participate and join in with the performers.
Responsibilities Include:
Teach 18th century history by:
* Interpreting the life of enslaved Africans and Free Blacks in 18^th century Williamsburg and Virginia.
* Using a variety of presentation techniques to meet the needs of diverse audiences
* Interpreting, participating in, and supporting a variety of seasonal and special events
* Engaging in program preparation, rehearsal, public performance and/or interpretation as assigned
* Successfully performing the work assignment as prepared by Programmatic Personnel in accordance with the approved standards for the particular presentation and site. The employee will not alter, or cause to be altered, the approved set up arrangement including blocking, scripting ET.
Provide exceptional customer service by:
* Modeling the organizational values of stewardship, customer service, hospitality and respect for people
* Managing guest/employee service
* Orienting visitors
* Maintaining a caring attitude guided by integrity, truthfulness, fairness, courtesy and respect for the individual
Work collaboratively to achieve the mission of Colonial Williamsburg by:
* Modeling the organization's personal/professional expectations
* Participating as an active member of a team
* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Competencies usually acquired through completion of 4 years of college or 2-4 years' experience in storytelling, character interpretation, theatre, music, dance, or related field, OR any combination of education and experience that fulfill the responsibilities of the job AND completion of established Foundation, Division, and Department training requirements.
* General knowledge of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation policies and procedures; familiarity with physical layout of Historic Area and interior of exhibition buildings.
* Strong oral communication skills
* Ability to be able to perform in front of large, diverse audiences including students and young children
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule including week nights, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to provide annual availability that includes a minimum of 2 evenings per week on a regular basis and up to 4 evenings per week during periods of peak demand, when required.
* Must have good overall attendance, work ethic, and attitude to work as part of a team.
* Ability to work outdoors in costume, in all types of weather including rain, snow, wind, heat, humidity, and storms, and to come in daily contact with allergens, including pollen and dust
Individuals selected for employment will be placed in a flat rate category according to their skill set as described below.
