Job Description STV currently has an opening in our Newark, NJ office for a career focused Highway Engineer in our Transportation and Infrastructure Division. The successful candidate will have experience in highway design including: Highway geometrics, roadway modeling and cross section development, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, storm water management, traffic control, signing and pavement marking, utility coordination, and right-of-way plan development. Candidate should have experience with Concept Development Studies for one of the 3 agencies NJDOT, NYSDOT, and NYCDOT. Key responsibilities will include design and review of all phases of highway plan development for our various transportation projects. Required Experience: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required Professional Engineer (PE) required Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Experience with MicroStation, InRoads/Geopak, AASHTOWare, E-Builder and Microsoft Office. Autoturn is a plus Working knowledge of NJDOT/NJTA, NYSDOT, & NYCDOT design standards and practices Experience with developing Engineer's Cost Estimates, Construction Schedules and Supplemental Specifications for NJDOT/NJTA preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills are required Experience with developing scope of work and man-hour estimates for highway engineering tasks Maintain good employee relations and project communication with both internal and external clients Experience with assisting highway project pursuits and other related Business Development activities. Active participation in professional society activities encouraged.
