We have an exciting opportunity within the North America Water Team for a Sub-Sector Leader for our Federal Water business. Given the current nature of most of our Federal Water work, initially this position will focus and be associated with our Water Resources Sector the goal being that over time this business grows to include more and more of our other Water Sectors. This position will directly report to John Montgomery, our Market Sector Leader for Water Resources, and is also strongly connected to Don Armour, Stantec s US Federal Program Leader. This position is a key part of Water s Business Development Leadership, oversees an important part of our growth strategy for North American Water, and may be located anywhere in the US. Your Key Responsibilities
In concert with Water s business development leadership group, develop and execute a client-focused strategic growth plan for our Federal Government business.,
Coordinate and collaborate with the Federal and Water Account Management team.
Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact between the Water Business Line and the Stantec US Federal Program.
Help develop a strategic staffing plan focusing on key hires needed to grow our presence in the Federal marketplace.
Prioritize Federal pursuits and collaborate through the Go / No-Go process with the involved Business Centers, Business Lines, and Geographies, working in conjunction with the Water Marketing and Sales and the Federal Business Operations teams.
Lead and manage the Water Business Line strategic pursuits to provide a winning approach.
Actively engage in project delivery with a utilization goal of approximately 30%.
Meets regularly with key clients to discuss current projects, evaluate firm performance, and identify other business opportunities either with current clients or though referrals.
Active in the marketplace to identify and support business development teams to bring in new work.
Responsible for marketing and business development, which may involve developing relationships with current and prospective clients, soliciting project opportunities, and routine meetings with the Client s designated project representative and jurisdictional agency personnel; coordinates regularly with Client Service professionals within the company.
Actively engaged in recruitment of key technical staff by screening resumes, interviewing prospective candidates, and coordinating with HR professionals in designing employment offers.
Mentors younger professional staff.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to seamlessly work with several teams as noted above.
Significant knowledge of the Federal procurement process, specifically the SF330 Architect-Engineer Qualifications form is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing pursuits and projects for Federal projects.
Additional management experience is a benefit.
Highly effective in assembling and leading technical project teams.
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to collaborate across local and remote offices and regions.
Highly effective in building and maintaining client relationships.
Highly effective in managing sub-consultants and equipment suppliers/vendors.
Looks for opportunities to collaborate across business lines and geographies.
Ability to travel that will fluctuate 25-50% of the time.
Education and Experience
Minimum of bachelor s degree in discipline specific Engineering from an accredited institution, or other bachelor s degrees common within the Stantec Water workforce (planning, GIS, etc.)
Minimum 10 to 12 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience. At least 4 to 5 years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of a wide range of medium to complex projects including Alternate Project Delivery (APD).
