Your day.

As a Biomedical Equipment Tech II you need to know howto:

Work independently repairing, calibrating, andmaintaining all basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments andsystems. Inspect, install, and perform inventory assessments and preventivemaintenance of clinical equipment.

Work on or be training on troubleshooting,repairing, calibrating and installing at least one complex piece of equipmentwith supervision as needed by a Clinical Engineering Equipment Technician LevelIII.

Respond to service requests and completingmaintenance inspections, mentor Level 1 Technicians with minor projects, followup on equipment recalls and interacts with medical staff to reduce operatorerrors and reduce equipment malfunctions.

Perform safety testing, performance testing, andpreventive maintenance to meet NFPA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission complianceon medical equipment in assigned departments at the scheduled timeintervals.

Document all repairs completed while performing maintenanceinspections as well as the inspections on all SCL Health electronic medicalequipment.

Perform electronic repairs, according tomanufacturers specifications, in order to offer providers and other medicalstaff equipment that is 100% operational.

Replace defective components according toaccepted practice to ensure minimal damage to components and printed circuitboards.Perform operational checkout andsafety testing of all repaired equipment.

Complete documentation which includes allnecessary parts, including part numbers, quantity, price, time, procedures, andequipment used to accomplish each service request.

Service all basic general medical equipment.

Respond immediately to emergency repairs,including after hours and weekends.

Communicate the nature of repair to thedepartment supervisor as well as an estimate of the possible down-time.Inform personnel as to equipment status aftercompletion of repairs.

Your experience.

Completion of a two year approved Biomedical orElectronics Program or equivalent factory training and experience, required

Documented completion of factory training on avariety of basic and complex pieces of imaging equipment, required

Experience with all aspects of safety andspecial precautions relating to the servicing of moderately complex biomedicalequipment systems, required

Minimum of two (2) years of experience with therepair and maintenance of medical equipment, required
