The Registered Nurse (RN), Level 2 is a competent nurse who has been practicing a minimum of 2 years in the same clinical setting. In this role, the RN is able to provide clinically appropriate care following established protocols for an assigned group of patients. The RN is beginning to recognize long range goals and more readily recognizes patterns of clinical information. The RN can manage some degree of uncertainty but may still need assistance with complex, vulnerable patients and situations. Based on these skills the RN is able to form a plan of care using the nursing process which helps to increase efficiency and organization. The RN is able to identify opportunities for continued professional development that correspond with career goals.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BS in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
Licensure: Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
Certification: BLS certification required.
Skills: Familiarity with computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), e-mail, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office. Demonstrated teamwork and communication (written and verbal) skills; demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
