Software Test Engineer (contractor) 2019-114 - Boulder, CO - Job Description SomaLogic is a privately-owned biomedical science company that developed a revolutionary proteomics technology capable of measuring thousands of different human proteins in a single small sample. We are now moving towards commercializing the health-related information derived from that technology to help people worldwide proactively manage their health for life. As a part of our commercialization effort, we are seeking additional expertise to join our dedicated team of scientists, bioinformaticians, statisticians, and software developers to help us realize that vision. We are looking for a talented, self-driven and results oriented Software Test Engineer to help build and expand our scientific data applications. We are a small agile/lean software team working on web applications for storing and managing scientific and biomedical data. You will be responsible for development and maintenance of the teams test architecture. You will also participate in all facets of the software development life cycle, leading the planning, development, and execution of automated and manual Verification and Validation activities and tests. This position is a contract opportunity expected to last 4-6 months with the potential to become a regular full-time position. Key Job Responsibilities: - Participate in the design, implementation and maintenance of the groups automation and test architecture including tools and infrastructure - Participate in the evaluation, selection and development of test automation tools applying latest techniques and processes (test-driven development, data-driven testing, etc.) - Develop and maintain automation test infrastructure and test scripts - Work on cross-functional project teams comprised of Developers, Product Owners, Architects, Systems engineers, DevOps, Marketing, Quality, and Regulatory - Interface with product owners, software developers and key stakeholders to determine correct software behaviors and provide technical contributions towards solving engineering problems and providing testing solutions - Review and analyze requirements, test cases to ensure proper test coverage and test adequacy - Write and maintain clear and concise testing and engineering documents including plans, procedures, protocols and reports - Establish and maintain traceability from test cases to requirements - Design, develop and execute verification and validation test plans and test cases to ensure system architecture and functionality meet requirements and specifications - Analyze test results and defects to ensure proper disposition - Establish and maintain traceability from test cases to requirements - Participate in all phases of software development life cycle from requirements definition to deployment - Demonstrate ability and desire to work within a regulated medical device development environment - Establish and enhance existing test and agile processes and documentation - Skills & Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience Skills and experience Required - 4 years of hands-on database-backed web application testing experience - Experience with automated and manual testing for enterprise and cloud-scale products on various software, hardware and networking infrastructures - In depth knowledge of Unit, Functional, Integration, System, and Regression testing - Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Maven, Cucumber, Junit, REST Assured - Experience with database testing (SQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.) - Proficiency with one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Shell, JavaScript - Experience working in Continuous Build/Integration environments and using code repository and defect tracking tools (Jenkins, Docker, BitBucket, Jira) - Experience working in agile/scrum environment Desired - Experience with Web Services, Microservices, SaaS, REST, RabbitMQ - Experience with cloud deployment technologies (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure) - Experience containerizing and executing tests with Docker - Experience working within a regulated environment preferably Healthcare or Medical Device (FDA Quality System Regulation, Design Controls, GMP) Work Environment: We are a fun and passionate team from diverse backgrounds with an informal office work environment. The SomaLogic campus consists of several buildings adjacent to each other with occasional meetings spread over the campus.
