The SEIU BOLD Center supports organizational change initiatives in local unions and at the International Union by:. Developing, teaching and evaluating leadership development and organizational change programs for high-level elected and staff leaders.. Leading the education work to becoming an anti-racist organization committed to ending anti-black and structural racism.. Supporting the Innovation and Learning Center Director's efforts to center the Union's innovation learning.. Recruit, supervise, support and evaluate a diverse group of consultants who work with all levels of local unions and the International Union.. Work with local union leaders and staff to lead organizational change that will help transform the union to be nimble and sustainable with an emphasis on innovative.. Support the development of organizational change process and plan with SEIU Officers and senior staff.. Develop, facilitate and evaluate education programs for high level elected and staff leadership that include a focus on: personal mastery, team and group development, change management, organizational development, talent management, support leading SEIU's education work on becoming an anti-racist organization committed to ending anti-black and structural racism for our International and local unions.. Work closely with the Racial Justice Center to design, coordinate, and deliver high-level union-wide change interventions that support the Union becoming an anti-racist organization committed to ending anti-black structural racism.. Support Innovation and Learning Center Director efforts in the union on aspects of innovation and learning.. Oversee the development and management of the SEIU BOLD Center's plan and budget.. Provide direction for the management of consultant agreements, memoranda of understanding and billing.. Facilitate strategic planning sessions.. Provide as needed coaching for local and International union leaders. Provide analysis and develop a transmission belt of learning across the union to officers and senior staff.. Perform other duties as required to support the department and its mission.. Direction and Decision Making:. This position reports to the Executive Vice President responsible for Leadership and Innovation. The SEIU BOLD Center Director will work closely with the Innovation and Learning Center Director and the SEIU Racial Justice Center to set direction of the work in the union and develop programs that advance SEIU's mission.. Physical Requirements:. Work is generally performed in an office setting, but job may require work in the field or in other settings to perform the tasks required to complete assignments. Must be available for frequent travel with overnight stays. Travel and work beyond traditional business hours is required. The position is located in Washington, DC. Education and Experience:. Degree from an accredited four-year college or university or experience equivalent to a degree. Graduate level accreditation in organizational development or equivalent experience.. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience demonstrating progressively greater responsibility preferably in the field of organizational development and leadership in a labor union, political, nonprofit, or issue-driven environment; a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the organizational change field in a progressive environment; a minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising and directing staff, including management level staff.. All candidates must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs that help organizations successfully manage organizational change.. Extensive knowledge of leadership development, organizational change and innovation theories, models and practices.. Knowledge of and experience with anti-racist organizational change and organizational equity and inclusion practices.. Strong facilitation skills.. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner and keep track of a variety of projects.. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and elected officers.. Ability to develop diverse high-performing teams.. Experience supervising management level staff..
