Job Description

POSITION: Business Development Manager Logistics and Warehousing - East

LOCATION: New Jersey (can be in a bordering state)

OVERVIEW:

International, third-party, logistics company that is committed to providing innovative strategies and services to help customers create competitive advantage with secure, economic, and timely management of goods is seeking a Business Development Manager to help them carry out their mission. The ideal candidate will live in the area with experience working with domestic freight and warehousing sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prospects, builds, and develops strategic partnerships with clients
  • Maintains and grows existing business while securing new revenue streams from new clients
  • Achieves assigned and measurable sales objectives
  • Strong business acumen, account management and proven Logistics Sales & Negotiating Skills
  • Identifies and develops high potential accounts
  • Ensures sustainable revenue at acceptable profitability levels
  • Provides timely and accurate reports and document sales leads
  • Suggests actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Keeps current with industry and market trends
  • Serves as a liaison between clientele and operational staff

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years with past sales experience at third party logistics company or related logistics field
  • Possesses a book of business with a proven network of logistics and supply chain decision makers
  • Solid sales and marketing background
  • Solid group presentation skills
  • Aggressive, self-motivated, and a sense of urgency
  • Experience completing and working with various RFP s (Request for Proposal)
  • Knowledge of Warehousing Management Systems (WMS) preferred
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred
  • Understanding of General Supply Chain Management
  • General knowledge of Domestic and International Transportation (FTL, LTL)
  • Detailed=oriented
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to provide excellent customer service
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Willing to travel
