MTCI Plan Review Processor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Plans Review Processor is the beginning of the flow of work at MTCI and is crucial to both the plan reviewers and all other staff in understanding the scope of what has been received. The plans coordinator acts much like a detective, researching what has been submitted and documenting appropriately in our database. Attention to detail is critical for this position.
Primary Duties-
Logging in plans to MTCI s Review My Plans and coordinating with Smartsheets for tracking.
Verifying with clients and contractors what documents have been submitted and inquiring about any discrepancies between what is listed on the Plan Submittal Application and what has actually been received.
Creating and attaching affidavits to plans and shop drawings for approval by our plans reviewers and engineers.
Secondary Duties-
Answering phone calls.
Covering Front Desk responsibilities when there is an absence.
Filing of related documents. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Regular Attendance and Punctuality is an essential requirement of the job.

Education & Experience

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; three (3) years directly related experience in the administration and enforcement of Building Code requirements, land development regulations or land development permit application review processes; one (1) year of supervisory experience; two (2) years experience directly related experience in the administration, issuance and enforcement of Building Permit and or Zoning application review processes or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Considerable knowledge of permitting procedures including the Code, Florida Statutes and County and City Ordinances. Considerable knowledge of land measurement and legal descriptions. Ability to manage and supervise subordinate staff. Ability to read and interpret building plans, site plans, development plans and zoning maps. Ability to work effectively with other governmental agencies and the public. Ability to communicate effectively in writing. Ability to manage, review and analyze complex processes to continually improve permit application review services. Ability to deal tactfully but firmly with customers. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Ability to use personal computers. Training/Licensure Requirements
