Title: Director, Brand Management, Women's Contemporary Sportswear and denim.

Purpose and Scope:

The primary responsibility of the role is to drive sales and margin in the areas of Women's Contemporary for this omnichannel business . Primary responsibilities are building and implementing long term strategies , innovation and relationship building .

Salesmanship is vital to this role . Cultivating relationships with key brands as well as identifying and opening new brands is crucial . As an off price business understanding and applying the art of negotiation is expected .

The DBM must have the ability to build , develop and lead a great team . Key to this role is the ability to drive results through innovation , creative merchandising and cross functional collaboration. Key partners are merchandise planning , programming , production , technology and operations .

The individual should be self-driven and excellent at producing results while working independently, and with the team.

You Will:

* Strategize business development; evaluate current/ past business, be very current on competitive landscape and industry trends through all avenues of media (print and social) to identify key opportunities for growth and formulate actionable plans to achieve.
* Need to be tuned into social influencers to be on top of the cutting edge trends and brands coming on to the scene.
* Have existing strong relationships in the Contemporary (entry level & advanced) and denim markets both in NY & LA.
* Merchandising and buying; Partner with planning team and coordinate with the RGG merchandise team to properly buy for both channels of business and with depth necessary to drive strong sell throughs. Ability to plan event cadence and negotiate strongest possible gross margins and product orders consistent with company/ divisional goals
* Brand acquisition; identifying and securing relevant target brands and products for RGG events. Ability to identify what brands are right for Rue, for Gilt as well omni channel to maintain a strong individual identity for both channels. This role requires working independently and leveraging contacts as well as past associations.
* This director will have the ability to manage up and down effectively as well an ability to live our core values.
* Must be a strong presenter as they will be presenting strategy to president of company, SVPS and cross functional partners regularly.
* Ability to partner with programming, planning and other merchandise teams to effectively run business as expected by RGG leadership. ensuring support and synergy, coordination of calendar, operations and logistics to achieve successful and profitable event execution

You Have:

* Bachelor's degree
* 10 + years related experience in retail buying/merchandising
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong relationship building skills
* Proven management experience/leadership skills
* Ability to set strategy and manage a cross-functional process
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
