Position Department: Employee Relations, Compliance, and Talent Management

Position Type: Staff Full-Time

Overview:

The Human Resouces Business Partner, Talent Management position will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and retaining of skilled and diverse staff and faculty. The incumbent will work closely with department leaders and hiring managers to plan, develop, and implement productive talent management strategies at the University and act as a back up to the Director, Human Resources with employee relations issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the university's recruitment process, coaching hiring managers throughout the recruitment process on reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, navigating the applicant tracking system, and ensuring that the Diversity Hiring Plan is followed.
  • Manage the performance development process, which includes tracking and monitoring of evaluations, coaching employees and managers on the process and providing additional training as needed.
  • Reviews employment applications for accuracy and background check reports to ensure consistency and compliance prior to final offers.
  • Represents the University at internal and external events to attract quality and diverse candidates to the University; champions diversity.
  • Designs and implements professional develops training for the university's learning and development needs targeting employees, hiring managers, and department leaders.
  • Plans and executes programs that improve the candidate's experience and suggest measures for retaining quality employees.
  • Manages the new hire orientation, onboarding program, and student worker's tasks.
  • Works with Director, Human Resources to coordinate immigration services, process unemployment forms, and enter worker's compensation incidents in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Acts as a backup to the Director, Human Resources for the intake of employee relations issues from employees and/or managers.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensures that RMU is in compliance with employment law and RMU policies and procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field is required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5 Years of human resources experience required.
  • 1-2 Years of Training experience preferred
  • Conflict Management experience preferred
  • Current knowledge of employment laws
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Google Apps is preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate the development of programs and processes from the ground up.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical acumen to keep abreast of ever-changing technology
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to think creatively to develop new innovative programs
  • Excellence in consultative skills and relationship building
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with internal customers
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees within the organization
  • Independent judgment with a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a high pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and analytical ability
  • Willingness to develop in additional areas as needed
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM SCP is preferred.
