Rapid Logistics  is a full service, third-party logistics (3PL) start-up company that provides warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, and supply chain management/consulting to all sales channels, including retail, wholesale, and direct to consumer. We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist who will report directly to the head of HR and responsible for performing under minimal supervision. Full cycle Payroll processing from beginning stage through end Administering Company Retirement Saving Plans (401 k) Prepares, inputs and processes a semi-monthly payroll including; review of wages and withholdings, and correcting errors, to ensure payroll accuracy. Audits any changes to payroll amounts to ensure accuracy and approval by management. Reviews timecards for missing punches and follows up with managers to ensure timely and accurate payroll. Assists in processing both on-cycle and off-cycle multi-state payroll for team members including; termination and separation checks. Reviews and processes payroll adjustments, including vacation, sick, and other time off. Responds to all payroll and benefit inquiries in a timely manner. Ensures that payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge of state and federal laws which govern payroll practices. Benefits Administration including Administering Group Benefit programs Assists with annual open enrollment. Ensures accurate enrollment in benefits programs. Processes 401(k) contributions. Assists with COBRA administration. Assists Team Members with leave of absence and worker’s compensation claims. Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each Team Member. Prepares payroll reports and conducts special research for management. Conducts periodic audits of salaries to identify any non-compliance issues. Audits and reconciles monthly invoices and eligibility to ensure accurate reporting. Participates in other projects and performs other responsibilities as assigned Superior ADPworkforce Now skills is a must Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel Excellent oral and written communication skills Outstanding customer service orientation Ability to function effectively in a variety of challenging situations and circumstances, including project deadlines, demanding customers, tight budgets, and evolving goals and objectives Ability to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner Excellent work ethic and attendance Consistency in giving feedback regarding work progress, timetable and issues Location: 6420 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA, 90048
