Develops, defines, and executes program plans of record, including: schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and risks. Monitors and drives the program from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders across functions on technical matters, as needed. Monitors budget/spending, on-time delivery, and achievement of program milestones. Represents the program and drives alignment across stakeholders. Implements and manages change and interventions to ensure program goals are achieved. Manages a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities in a matrixed environment. Responsibilities Program Management: Primarily responsible for simultaneously leading several critical mega-programs that have significant impact on the business strategy, along with multiple core programs that are relatively diverse in nature, and have moderate to high complexity and high impact on business results. Typical mega-programs will be highly complex in nature with numerous cross-functional/cross-business interdependencies, and are long-term in nature (2 years or more), such as developing core technology products and integrated hardware and software solutions. This requires providing oversight to and managing numerous competing, concurrent, and overlapping deadlines to completion for multiple programs that are diverse in nature, without forgoing results. Collaborates with key stakeholders and program sponsors to define program goals, set the prioritization of deliverables, and discuss necessary priorities in order to meet stakeholder needs and secure buy-in. Defines success criteria and manages execution for each program using a sound planning principles within the program Plan of Record (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope), which includes determining schedule and resource forecasting, stakeholder identification, method and frequency of communication, scope, risk mitigation, and prioritization. Identifies program issues/risks and creates a risk mitigation plan for multiple critical mega-programs and a number of single medium sized or complex program. Defines and manages metrics and the risk tracker. Proactively identifies when key metrics deviate or may deviate significantly from Plan of Record in order to mitigate risk to program/deadline/milestone completion. Escalates issues identified in a timely manner and proposes corrective actions. Team Management: Oversees the execution of the program team by prioritizing work, establishing schedules, task assignments, and tracking tasks of team members. Drives program vision and objectives within own team, and ensures program objectives are met or exceeded. Defines and communicates performance expectations; monitors, evaluates and optimizes performance; coaches and motivates team to achieve success. Program Execution: Proactively delivers the PMO strategy by defining and executing stakeholder objectives to ensure programs have met key execution criteria: on time, on schedule, and on or under budget Regularly manages team, time, and resources to maintain forward movement with complex initiatives and ensures deliverables are met. Persists in accomplishing objectives despites obstacles and setbacks, mitigates and resolves issues that surface as defined above. This includes project teams who have a direct reporting relationship and project teams who do not have a direct reporting relationship. Delivers results using highly skilled problem solving, sound decision making ability, stakeholder management, influence without authority, and resourcefulness. Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, looks beyond the obvious and doesn t stop at the first answer, probes all fruitful sources for possible solutions. Influences and/or makes key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions). Ensures decisions made have taken into considerations the downstream effect and organizational impact both inside and outside of immediate work group and communicates to the appropriate parties to correct where necessary. Exercises substantial creativity to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives Uses verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. PMP Certification or equivalent work experience. Experience: 7+ years Program Management experience with large scale and complex projects, or related work experience.
