Project Controls Specialist - Scheduler



Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities



The Project Controls Specialist works closely with the Project Manager in the overall management of the project and has an advanced understanding of complex projects and how they work, high levels of scheduling and cost knowledge, and is able to interact productively with key members of a project team with a variety of backgrounds. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:





+ Identifying work scope, technical sequencing and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)



+ Communicating with various project teams and internal work groups



+ Developing, maintaining, and supporting energy delivery project schedules



+ Working with engineering managers to assure the schedule represents the execution plan



+ Reporting project progress to engineering leads and providing visibility to critical deliverables through regular meetings



+ Analyzing contractor's schedule submissions



+ Utilizing look-ahead schedules to help manage the work



+ Preparing critical path, earned value, and schedule risk analysis



+ Preparing cost performance and cash flow projections utilizing budget and cost-loaded schedules



+ Managing changes and keeping teams aware of changes to the schedule



+ Updating individual tasks and Project Performance Indicators as indicated on progress updates





Required Education/Experience





+ BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Construction Management



+ Candidate must have five (5) + years of professional experience



+ Proficient in Primavera P6; advanced experience with Primavera P6 on engineering and construction projects



+ In-depth understanding of CPM scheduling and Earned Value Management (EVM)



+ Ideal candidate should be a self-starter and work independently





Desired Education/Experience





+ Experience working on large programs valued in excess of $100,000,000.00



+ Electrical utilities and power distribution experience



+ Certification from AACE or PMI



+ Oracle and MS Project knowledge
