Responsible for directing the merchandising and product development functions of the bottoms division for branded lines and private brand customers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Your duties should reflect the most significant aspects of your job. Do not state anything that requires less than 5% of your time.)* Direct responsibility for specific brands. Work closely with Vice President of Merch., VP and sales team to identify product opportunities. Coordinate the development and execution of product lines.* Create seasonal merchandising plans for branded lines and private label customers. Monitor sample placement against the sample budget.* Work with sourcing on garment pricing. Responsible for achieving gross margin targets, re-developing products as necessary to meet goals.* Work with Director of Creative Design and design team to develop and review new model and trim ideas.* Directs the creative team on product and visual presentation needs for sales team/customer meetings. Pulls together all samples and collateral for customer meetings.* Work with graphics team to create new packaging concepts* Follow and execute to the merchandising calendar. Scheduling design and management reviews to stay on target.* Shop the market for new trends and business opportunities.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES* Strong computer knowledge, especially Illustrator Excel, Word and Power Point. PDM a plus.* Work within a team environment.* Style and SKU management* Knowledge of the men's market, especially men's bottoms* Strong organizational, time management, communication.* Fabric construction and finishing, garment construction.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking, talking and hearing.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Please indicate if a degree is required)* College degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field.* Five years merchandising and product development experience.
