We have an IMMEDIATE NEED for several Construction QC Engineers within our Joint Venture staff that is designing and building the new Terminal 1 at Newark Liberty International Airport. This is a $1.4B lump sum design-build project that requires Contractor QC Engineers with experience, ideally working for at-risk builder(s), primarily on large vertical or civil construction projects. The basic structural aspects of the building are completed. As a QC Engineer/Specialist, you will be involved in all remaining aspects of the terminal construction including all interiors, electrical, mechanical and plumbing for the building which includes 33 gates, as well as surrounding structures, aircraft pavement, and passenger building bridges. The successful candidate will perform quality control inspection activities on assigned project areas or scopes of work to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and design requirements. Assures the construction quality control requirements are understood and the construction is performed in accordance with the Contract, the Final Design, and applicable codes, standards, policies, and procedures.
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES** :
Performs Quality Control activities for assigned program(s) or project(s) to ensure that products or services provided meet customer and contract requirements.
Acts as the focal point for construction quality issues and aggressively drives resolution within the construction team and with the design team and the Owner.
Ensures Construction Quality documentation and records are developed and maintained.
Monitors field activities by joint venture forces or by subcontractor forces, as they are being performed, to ensure conformance with the Contract, the Final Design, and applicable codes, standards, policies, and procedures.
Assists with review and approval of Subcontractor Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans and
other quality related documents.
Confirms subcontractor resources are in place to implement Subcontractor QC Plans.
Ensures subcontractor inspections are performed and properly documented.
Ensures quality inspections/surveillances for Commissioning activities are performed and documented.
**Qualifications:**
Minimum 2-year degree in Engineering or related field, plus 4 to 8 years related construction experience, with experience performing QA/QC functions as described above, is required.
Heavy building Construction experience is required. The ideal candidates would have aviation terminal, airfield experience,or bridge experience.
It is anticipated that individuals will be certified, or can become certified within 90 days, to perform activities in one or more of the following areas (or subjects): Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Instrumentation and Controls, Civil, Structural, Architectural, HVAC, Welding, Non-Destructive Examination, Receiving, and Special Processes. Certification to industry recognized standards, such as DOT, IEEE, AWS, SNT-TC-1a, IEEE, ACI or International Code Council will be required.
