Reporting to the Associate Dean, Diversity and Inclusion, the Associate Director will assist with the strategic leadership in shaping and defining the school's inclusion, diversity, belonging and equity (IDBE) values and creating initiatives that advance those values for all members of our community including students, faculty and staff. The Associate Director will manage the implementation of inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences for students, faculty, and staff. In addition, the selected candidate will work collaboratively to promote intercultural understanding for the entire NYU Stern community and create and enhance a supportive campus climate for underrepresented students. The Associate Director will assist in building and promoting an inclusive environment at NYU Stern by recommending inclusive pedagogies (in and out of the classroom), explore ways to feature diverse perspectives in all programming, and track progress towards improving diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity at the School. The Associate Director will also collaborate with leaders in Student Engagement and work with student affinity groups and students who are from underrepresented groups.
The selected candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree or MBA preferred) and 5+ years of progressively responsible professional level experience in a higher education, non-profit, or corporate setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong relationship management and program management skills are required along with a proven ability to plan and implement programs with quantifiable results. Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, strategic, management and systems skills are also essential. Experience in diversity and inclusion programming is preferred.
