The Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs in the School of Professional Studies is seeking an Assistant Director, Faculty Affairs to create and implement processes, procedures, and corresponding timelines that align with new and existing policies developed by the SPS Faculty Council, school-wide committees and administration. Other responsibilities include: manage and oversee faculty reappointment review process. Manage contracts for full-time faculty and MOUs for adjunct faculty. Independently plan, implement and direct execution of all faculty-related events for the SPS Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs. Create and implement secure and confidential nomination and selection processes for staffing existing and future school-wide and University-wide committees in collaboration with the Faculty Council. Interact with and advise faculty committees on the overall governance structure at SPS as well as school and university policies. Manage budget; project expenses, review and approve expenditures. Develop content for website, newsletter, and other materials. Shared supervision of staff. Execute special projects.Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's degreePreferred Education:Master?s degree in higher education administration, human resources, or other related field.Required Experience:5 years' progressively responsible experience with human resources management and/or faculty services or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience in interpreting and communicating policies to various stakeholders.Preferred Experience:Related experience at a large, complex, decentralized higher education institution.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent customer service, problem solving, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to deliver consistently high quality, timely service and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously in a high volume academic environment. Ability to establish priorities and to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, and follow through to completion. Ability to interpret policies to faculty and senior level executives. Ability to develop relationships with key constituents at all levels of the school and throughout the University. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion. Knowledge of standard office software.
