NYIT's Office of Communications and External Affairs, seeks a Digital Strategist for the New York City, NY campus.
Build front-end user interfaces using responsive design best practices, HTML, CSS, and various scripting languages. Help with initiatives to improve and/or redesign heavily-trafficked sections of the site, as assigned by manager.
Collaborate with designers and developers on one-off online components and pages. Participate in meetings, as needed, with clients to understand their needs and guide them to decisions that best meet our site branding and intended user journey.
Review and report on web analytics, with a focus on traffic trends and user behavior. Make suggestions that will markedly improve site experience for both the current NYIT community and prospective students.
Serve as support person for all digital sign needs, including deployment on campuses in New York City and Long Island. Attend trainings and meetings to better improve digital signage systems and process.
Build HTML emails for both bulk and custom campaigns. Assist with email sends via email marketing platform. Stay current on industry trends, make suggestions to improve process.
Other duties related to the upkeep of NYIT digital properties, such as the NYIT app, subdomains, and social tools, as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Expertise in web development/production (front-end) is required.
Experience in Higher Education/Non-Profit is preferred.
Skills: excellent customer service/communications; superior writing and editing of web content; fluency in HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop. Helpful: Experience with HTML5, video for web, motion graphics, responsive design, web design, photography, and photo-editing.
Abilities: demonstrated ability to translate designs into HTML/CSS, taking into account cross-browser and cross-platform issues (e.g., PC/Mac, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.); creative; deadline-driven; well-organized; poised, professional, and engaging; self-motivated; attention to detail; multitasking.
