Your Opportunity

As a Senior Product Manager in the Application Performance Group, you'll be responsible for building solutions that help our customers better understand, troubleshoot, and optimize their modern systems. To be successful in this role, you'll need a good balance of customer-centricity, strong product sense, and deep curiosity in the day-to-day challenges of troubleshooting and operating modern software. We believe that experience as an SRE or as a software engineer in a DevOps environment will give you perspective and empathy for the people we're building for. Your proficiency in written and verbal communication will help you communicate ideas to your team, go-to-market teams, executives, and customers. Because this role is at the center of a critical initiative, your ability to negotiate alignment with other product managers and receive input from senior leaders will be key to your success.

As the product manager, you will be a core leader in the team responsible for supplying expertise to inform product strategy. You'll prioritize the roadmap, define product features, build customer relationships, partner with Design and Engineering to deliver innovative products, and grow the business in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams. This is a dynamic role for someone who is a strategic thinker with a practitioner background, that understands the need for process and prioritization on high demand projects, and who can turn planning into phenomenal product experiences by jumping in and getting their hands dirty.

What You'll Do

* Product strategy - Supply deep expertise and market knowledge to the APM product strategy.
* Prioritization - Lead your team through scoping and planning exercises that hone in on the most valuable work for our customers. You'll communicate business priorities and customer imperatives clearly at all times.
* Research - Learn from customers and find opportunities for innovation by following technology trends. You'll incorporate user research and usability studies to build delightful solutions.
* Measure success - Align your team on the definition of success by creating OKRs for every initiative. You'll also define business metrics that provide a long-term measure for feature health.
* Positioning: Build relationships with our go-to-market teams and create content that helps them sell your product, grow adoption, and provide support.
* Market awareness - Maintain an active view of key competitors and the broader market landscape.

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

* Solid understanding of modern software architecture and methods to troubleshoot and optimize modern software systems.
* Technical depth to experiment with technologies, communicate with practitioners, and craft deep technical GTM content.
* Ability to clearly articulate the \"what\", \"why\", and \"who\" to focus requirement definition, design exploration, and engineering execution on the most important customer value.
* Capability to go beyond building \"features\" and instead build end-to-end solutions that make our customer's lives better.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead via influence, patience, and determination.
* Experience in incorporating and, at times, challenging senior level input.
* 3+ years of Product Management experience
* 5+ years of experience developing software as an SRE, software developer, or Ops engineer.
* 5+ years experience leading cross-functional software projects

Nice-to-have:

* BA/BS in business, computer science, computer engineering or a related technical field preferred.
* Leadership positions in SRE or a DevOps engineering team.
* Prior responsibility for monitoring/observability platform strategy at a large company.
* Background in SaaS and cloud-based software
* Participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle
* Been responsible for and on-call for a production software system.
