Job Description

Our Support Functions deliver services and makes recommendations about ways to enhance our workplace and the experience of working at our organization. Our Support Functions include HR, Finance, Information Technology, Legal, Procurement, Administration, Facilities and Security.

Our Sourcing team partner with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.

The Executive Director Travel, Meetings and Card Sourcing & Strategy, has responsibility for leading a diverse, global team of procurement and operations subject matter experts, focused on the development and execution of enterprise-wide Travel, Meetings & Card Supply Strategies. This responsibility includes the management of global sourcing initiatives to deliver significant value relative to compliance, customer experience and cost efficiencies. Reporting to this position are Global and Regional Procurement Category Leaders, and Operation Strategy Leaders. This organizational structure supports a collaborative interaction between direct team members as well as matrixed colleagues globally to ensure effective translation of strategies into actionable and aligned operational execution plans.

The successful delivery of these objectives requires developing direct relationships with global business leaders and their teams across all regions and divisions to foster strong business partnership and alignment, while driving transformational changes and adherence to our Company's policies and processes in support of the strategic delivery of Travel, Meetings & Card services. Strategic alignment with business requirements is critical as the role strives to provide world-class, consistent, integrated services that anticipate the needs and exceed the expectations of stakeholders.

The Executive Director will partner closely with functional area colleagues to inform strategy development and drive improved supplier management, governance and operational excellence while managing global supplier partnerships across the Travel, Meetings and Card areas. This requires experience in people management, talent development, change management and influencing/directing across a broad network of colleagues to drive consistent and strategically aligned results. This role will have direct responsibility for overseeing supplier partner relationships (e.g. travel agency, meetings agencies, car rental company, airlines, hotel chain partners, technology providers, etc.) to ensure performance levels are monitored and managed, strategic program goals are achieved and continuous improvement/innovation is delivered.

This Executive Director must have a global mindset, strong applied Travel, Meetings and Card operations background with expertise in 3rd party management, global performance management, compliance experience and demonstrated service delivery experience. The candidate must also possess strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills.

This role will have autonomy to take action, make decisions, manage complex supplier relationships; support regional teams and procurement & operations team members by providing leadership, direction and expertise; resolve internal/external issue escalations; resolve escalated supplier management issues; engage directly with suppliers' senior leadership for contractual negotiations or changes; and support upper management as necessary, in the capacity of providing procurement & operational subject matter expertise.

This unique role will serve as an integral member of the Travel, Meetings & Card Sourcing & Operations Leadership Team and will work extensively within and outside of the organization to deliver on the above objectives.

  • Demonstrated experience in global Travel, Meetings & Card Sourcing leadership
  • Demonstration of effective leadership, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills necessary to interact and in?uence senior management within the business
