* Proactively communicating to customer base, and fellow Teammates on route related delays and issues. * Prepare daily records, and memos; and maintain filing systems. * Perform driver check-in with returning drivers. This includes going through invoices, checking in truck and store keys, proper handling of logs and DVIR's. At times will require going outside in different weather conditions and may require climbing into tractors or trailers. * Confirm drivers daily for routes dispatching that evening. * Perform daily, weekly and monthly Peoplenet procedures. This will include, but is not limited to, running of reports, consolidating information for transportation management and posting for drivers review. * Provide timely reports to immediate supervisor. This includes daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports that need to be run, compiled and distributed. * Verify road worthiness and keeping of maintenance records for tractors and trailers. * Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Daily driver, vendor, customer and upper management communication will be required. * Provide timely reports to immediate supervisor. This includes daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports that need to be run, compiled and distributed. * Must have a flexible schedule and a willingness to learn new functions, such as Peoplenet and routing. * Must be comfortable in the MS Office Suite, and JDE. * Professional handling of confidential information. * Possess very strong interpersonal skills and be able to maintain positive relationships with al McLane teammates, its vendors and its customers. * Perform various duties as directed by management. * Ability to work a flexible schedule and operate in a fast paced, ever changing environment, which is in constant flux due to changes in customer needs. Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime. Schedule flexibility is required. Must have the ability to work overtime hours if necessary when volume fluctuations affect the dispatch of routes; such as holiday schedules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* Extensive communications via phone. * Ability to communicate with different levels of internal/external staffing. * Mathematical ability for maintaining schedules. * Understanding of dispatch issues and procedures. * Computer software experience relating to record keeping/ scheduling for drivers and helpers. * Preferred experience on AS400, Excel, and Microsoft Word programs; or similar programs. * Writing of memos/outside correspondence. * Understanding of distribution systems. * Ability to utilize faxing and copying machines.
