More information is available at www.themadisonsquaregardencompany.comRole SummaryEngineering lead responsible for all development and operations for the Infrastructure tools and monitoring platforms at MSG. This engineer will partner with various leaders in IT and the business to design, implement & continuously improve system availability and stability via automation and tools that minimize human points of failure for the company. The tools portfolio includes all enterprise level event management, monitoring, cloud management and automation tools with the objective of building and executing on a strategy to provide real time visibility and management of all technology components, service and business processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who strongly desires to lead the execution of IT as a Service (ITaaS) model through software tools, proactive monitoring and automation.Specific Functions/Activities Summary* Medium-to-large-scale service management and tool based automation initiatives/transformations.* Evaluate and communicate operational metrics and issues to leadership.* Manage SLAs, OLAs and KPIs via service management tools* Thouroughly understand the interdependence of systems and their impact to the business.* Utilize quality assurance, risk management, and security considerations and their impact on overall technology environment.* Assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.* Understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into business strategies for the client organizations.* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms.* Candidate selected will have to travel several times throughout the year to other business locations.Qualifications* 5+ years of IT service operations experience with a minimum of 3 years as a Tools, Automation and/or Monitoring Engineer* 2+ years' experience leading strategy and implementation of orchestration, event monitoring, application performance and capacity management toolsets* 5+ years' experience working within the ITIL Frameworks* Experience designing and leading enterprise software products in ITSM, Infrastructure tool and automation space.* Experience working with application development and support teams.* Experience successfully managing large tooling & instrumentation platforms.* Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management and/or equivalent.EducationCandidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
