More information is available at www.themadisonsquaregardencompany.comRole SummaryThe Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, input, processing, verification and reporting of the payroll process function, including review and input of employee tax setup, direct deposit, responding to employee's inquiries, printing and distributing checks as well as provide support to HR and payroll team when requested. This position requires an individual who can work well in a fast-paced, high volume environment.Specific Functions/Activities Summary* Assist in processing the weekly, bi-weekly, disbursement of multi-state, multi-location payrolls, consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws and Labor to ensure accuracy and completion. Provide customer support to MSG employee inquiries which includes researching calls/inquiries from management and employees pertaining to their pay, and provide timely response. Assist Payroll Manager and Analyst in proactively identifying potential issues with weekly and bi-weekly payroll and escalate appropriately through the proper communication channels. Conduct independent reviews of all Payroll processing prior to confirmation to ensure accuracy of pay. Perform system input of Federal and State tax setup as requested for new or existing employees. Print and distribute checks accordingly. Provide support to HR Business partners as well as the Payroll team as needed.Qualifications* Minimum 1-2 years of experience in house payroll processing including reporting expertise. BA/BS degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience. Excellent analytical, problem solving, knowledge of payroll principles and best practices. Intermediate proficiency using MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Automated Timekeeping System as it relates to payroll processing. Ability to analyze information and use logic and process to address work-related issues and problems. Collaborative in nature. Excellent communication skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Detail Oriented. A passion for customer service and bringing that to life within the function.EducationCandidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
