What does this role look like?

The selected candidate will be expected to be a first-line manager and a working member of the team by supporting subcontract execution and proposal activity directly as the business needs require. This position will manage/support more than one geographic area and will require someone who has strong multitasking skills and the ability to effectively oversee multiple large government and international opportunities.

The candidate must be knowledgeable and comfortable with providing guidance to Senior Management on Subcontract policy and procedures to include teaming agreements, selection of subcontract type(s) and developing subcontract specifications, work statements and make value-added contributions to the business by contributing knowledge of various aspects of the Supply Chain and Subcontract Management. Candidate must also have significant experience leading and directly managing people and teams to positive outcomes.

This position is responsible for the placement and management of subcontracts in support of various programs within the Mission Solutions Line of Business under the Space Systems Company. Specific duties involve procuring a variety of items from contract labor services to major hardware systems, and construction projects. As a result, familiarity with these types of efforts is a must. The successful candidate will be expected to understand and effectively utilize all contract types, including fixed price, labor hour, FP-LOE, T&M, and cost type. The selected candidate must also have in-depth knowledge and proficiency with the FAR and/or LMAP to the extent of ensuring that the team continues to produce high-quality subcontract order files. Other responsibilities include leading negotiations, establishing teaming agreements, facilitating invoice payments, and taking complete responsibility and ownership of the procurement process.

This position leads a strong team, which is the foundation for the high-performing function that is Mission Solutions Supply Chain Operations. Candidate should be comfortable representing the Global Supply Chain Organization and be a good communicator with the ability to explain just about anything to anyone, and be comfortable communicating in writing, on the phone, or in person in front of a group.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you need to possess these basic qualifications:

Demonstrated Full Spectrum leadership skills and behaviors through successful management of people and teams.
Substantial Experience in Subcontracting, Procurement, and/or Supply Chain Operations supporting US Government Prime Contracts, Commercial and International efforts.
Significant Experience leading Proposal / Capture Efforts / Win Plan

Above average skills with MS Office
Working knowledge & experience with LM Procure to Pay / SAP, or comparable procurement system..
