This role will offer you the following daily challenges:

Serve as the procurement engineer for multiple material intensive programs and initiatives. In this role you can be expected to work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to facilitate system architecture and design with the goal of transforming and translating technical requirements into an executable Bill of Material (BOM). You will represent Supply Chain as technical contact on contracts and projects.

This position is for you if you like solving problems without a clear step-by-step action plan and you don t get flustered easily. If you don t know the answer you re the type of person who digs until you find it. You like helping others, and you get a kick out of getting people and teams to those aha! moments. You are level-headed, cool under pressure, patient, and politely persistent. You are focused on the results but you re also paying attention to the details. You think anything worth doing is doing right, even if you overlooked something and have to start over again, at midnight. You have a sense of urgency and actually think you can do faster, better, and cheaper without having to settle for just two sides of that triangle.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you need to possess these basic qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance, to support this government contract.
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also:

Know a thing or two about project planning, scheduling, has a keen sense of coordination and attention to detail, with a demonstrated history of developing technical solutions and understanding how to derive what materials would be needed to achieve/implement those technical solutions.
Know something about Supply Chain Engineering, Software License Management, Logistics, hardware/software maintenance planning, Earned Value Management (EVM is a plus), Proposal Experience, and/or Cost Strategy Experience
Know something about developing Bills of Material and estimates
Know something about coordinating with suppliers to select hardware and/or software, model maintenance solutions, and resolve conflicts.
Know something about inventory tracking, planning, and coordination, are also key discriminators.
Know something about working with Information Technology (IT) Suppliers under tight time constraints.
Know something about dealing with assignments with aggressive schedules.
Know something about project costing and supplier interface experience.
Know something about project planning and implementation.
Solid skills in Microsoft office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to multi-task (can handle multiple program interfaces simultaneously with minimal supervision).
Demonstrated experience interfacing across multiple organizations and program levels.
Highly developed critical thinking and problem solving skills.
You think on your feet, you are charismatic, and you can sell a pet rock to anyone. You write well, you speak eloquently, and you can explain just about anything to anyone whether they are an intern or an executive.
