Job Title: Engineering Lab Technician Location: Boulder CO Pay range: $24-$28/hour DOE Duration: Temp to hire or Direct hire
Job Description : The primary role of the Engineering Lab Technician is to manage the lab space and activities for prototyping, development and validation. Working under the direction of the Validation Engineer, the Lab Technician will support the new product development, current products, validation, and quality teams with prototype fabrication and compliance testing. The Lab Technician will also support the execution of certified testing as per standards set forth by company policy and procedures.
Assist Validation Engineer in developing project test plans based on input from the new product development, current products, validation, and quality teams. Follow test plans in order to maintain the alignment between test objectives and test methodology. Assist design engineers with building and testing prototypes, making use of a variety of prototyping methods including but not limited to fabrication, assembly, welding and machining. Design and fabrication of test equipment. Provide Validation Engineer with test results, and reports, including observations made during the test procedure. Purchase and maintain lab tools and equipment. Manage laboratory material inventory such as solar panels, hardware, building materials, etc. Assist with lab improvements. Maintain a safe, clean and efficient lab environment. Shipping (create/schedule standard shipments and labels, package and ready materials for shipping)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a fabrication or assembly environment Minimum 2 years of experience in product test lab or similar environment Reliability and quality testing experience preferred OSHA 10 minimum
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Ability to set up test instrumentation and data acquisition equipment Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks Proficiency in problem solving processes and creativity Willingness and ability to work in a hands-on environment Skills and experience in fabrication, welding, machining and assembling prototypes and testing equipment Forklift Operation
