This person will be responsible for supporting operators in the loading of parts, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements. The candidate will be responsible to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. A machinist must have knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to be successful in this position. Position Description:Full time Machinist position for a growing Bakery Equipment Manufacturer.Reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor. Responsibilities:Measure dimensions and hold tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders.Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machines.Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods of operations needed to machine dimensions and tolerances.Prepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearance.Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment. Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to insure quality of productions. Reports all machine malfunctions to Machine Shop Supervisor · Ability to hold tolerances to plus or minus .0005 Requirements:Minimum 5 years experience preferred in set-up CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes and 4-axis horizontal milling, vertical milling machines Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales. Strong understanding in blue print reading/ geometric tolerancing interpretation High School Degree or Equivalent.3-5 years experience in manufacturing machine shop environment.SDL2017
