Overview

Provide intensive therapeutic services to young children and their families enrolled in a specialized preschool classroom. Provide individual, family and group therapy at Jefferson County Head Start program or in- home. Will collaborate and consult with the other Head Start classrooms to support the needs of children. This is a 10 month position with June and July off.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to address the needs of children identified for specialized preschool programming.
* Conduct observations and evaluations to create social-emotional support plans for classroom teachers.
* Provide individual, family and group therapy in the Head Start setting.
* Provide in-home therapy with Head Start students and their families which may require evening hours.
* Co-facilitate parenting classes at Jefferson County Head Start
* Provide help with registration and back to school night, some evening work will be necessary.
* Cross-system program development with a variety of community agencies including consultation and training with these agencies.
* Will work with families in an episode of care model using strength-based, culturally competent treatment.
* Provide case management services as required and referrals to our Navigation team when needed.
* Provide satisfaction surveys to all families at the conclusion of the treatment episode.
* May assist the Nurturing Parenting Program.
* Make appropriate referrals for additional services as necessary.

Other Duties

* Attends supervision at times and intervals agreed upon with supervisor.
* Completes 95% of all paperwork by the due date.
* Reports high risk/problem cases, and utilizes a problem solving approach as well as feedback
* Submits 90% of all Progress-to-Date forms within 3 working days (team specific).
* Participates in supervision by coming prepared with an agenda.
* Attends mandatory in-services, compliance with individualized training plan if required.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Masters degree in counseling, social work, or psychology with an early childhood specialization. Utilizes a trauma informed perspective in treatment planning as well as in direct care. Knowledge of the DC:0-5R and how it can inform treatment or willingness to attend a training. Bilingual preferred. Basic computer skills such as, proficiency utilizing e-mail and an electronic medical record.
