Ziff Media Group is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Video Distribution Fellow to join our New York City office's growing team of creative digital storytellers.
This person will assist with the day-to-day distribution of video content across multiple platforms on Mashable.com, PCMag.com, Geek.com, AskMen.com and ExtremeTech.com. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of the distributed social media ecosystem, a strong editorial and video programming background, and an appreciation of editorial standards. We're looking for someone who understands the importance of community management, analytics, and editorial voice across distributed video platforms.
The position is also one of quality control, which entails working with the video story editor to copy edit video headlines, descriptions, and metadata on subjects from science and technology to entertainment, social good, and digital culture. You'll work across departments, interacting with members of our editorial, video, and art teams to create and track social media posts.

The Day to Day:
* Distribute content by following a publishing schedule across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn * Write clever social copy that best optimizes content for each social platform * Work closely with growth team to identify new emerging platform opportunities * Collaborate with growth and social team to optimize content for platforms * Identify and implement best practices for social platforms, SEO, and other metadata * Monitor real-time traffic and social data to support the editorial team * Identify opportunities for audience development and growth * Assess the competitive landscape and make strategic recommendations * Weekly reporting to the growth team and other Mashable departments
* Attention to detail and the willingness to quickly learn content management systems * An understanding and interest in the social ecosystem, digital video, and SEO * Experience with social media in a professional or institutional capacity preferred * Sound editorial judgment including a deep knowledge of media ethics * A positive attitude that's solution-oriented and unafraid to ask questions * Interest and knowledge of tech and digital lifestyle space * The ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Minimum availability of 35 hours a week (this is a full-time fellowship)
