ION is a leading CO2 capture technology developer that has worked with the U.S. Department of Energy (U.S. DOE) and industry leaders to develop and demonstrate its patented solvent technology over the last 10 years. ION is rapidly growing in support of its commercialization plan to create long-term recurring revenue opportunities from the design, construction and operation of CO2 capture plants, as well as the sale of the CO2captured to be utilized in applications such as enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR).Summary:ION is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our small but growing company. The Staff Accountant will take on the responsibilities of many of the day-to-day financial activities. The successful candidate will be able to see the big picture and provide input and improve the overall workflow of the accounting department. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. This position initially reports to the VP Finance and will work closely with other finance and executive team members.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Processes AP, AR, and GL transactionsPrepares reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrued liabilitiesAssists with the preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow)Reviews and troubleshoots reconciliation discrepanciesAssists with regulatory reporting, tax reporting, business licenses, and 1099sAdheres to departmental policies and procedures and makes recommendations to increase efficiencies or improve processesAssists with complicated government contracts and government reporting per FAR guidelinesAssists with annual financial and government audits and incurred cost proposalsCompetencies:Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their application is requiredExperience with SEC rules and regulations is preferredIs a productive team member who builds trust and supports their colleaguesWorks with a sense of urgency and demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing prioritiesHighly organized and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, highly technical environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills and superior attention to detail are essentialEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience requiredMinimum of three years of accounting experience requiredExperience working with for a public company is preferredAdvanced knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookQuickBooks experience preferredPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position working standard business hours.
