Job Details Description IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for VP, Strategic Initiatives in our Surety Business Unit. This role will provide Operations, Technology and Business Intelligence related leadership, guidance and direction in a matrixed environment. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for operational assessment, process improvement and planning initiatives and will make recommendations to Surety Business Leadership. This role will be located in Cheshire, CT with the expectation to travel to the Surety HQ in Newark, NJ on a regular basis. Responsibilities: Provides leadership by steering organizational change, cultivating relationships and putting the organization in a position to succeed. Leads day-to-day operations with a focus on execution excellence and continuous improvement. Project evaluation, design and management for the following strategic projects: Centralized Cash Application process, improved premium billing and receivables process, online Commercial Surety application, Underwriting System improvements that includes integrated approach and Organizational Deep Dive focused on business process improvement. Develops process, Technology and Business Intelligence roadmap. Prioritize need, investment and return. Communicates with other areas within IAT such as Underwriting, Finance, Operations, Information Technology and Business Intelligence to ensure transparency regarding strategic initiatives. Vendor management and negotiation. Assists in Training & Development efforts. Manages Powers Program, as well as state rate filings. Coordinates regional audit and Home Office/Regional Office file review processes. Establish Treasury List reporting process. Other job-related duties as required. Qualifications: Bachelors' degree in Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Business or related with at least 10 years of related experience Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements. Must have thorough knowledge of Surety Industry along with an analytical skillset. Must possess ability to analyze data on aggregation exposures and identify actions necessary to minimize adverse impact on the business. CPCU and AFSB designations preferred. Requires strong math aptitude, excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills. Must be customer service oriented and have the utmost integrity. Must possess knowledge of various computer programs, internet based programs, and PC literate in the use of spreadsheets. To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
