The Director, Group and Specialty Compliance ensures compliance with governmental requirements. Requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.. Responsibilities. The Director, Group and Specialty Compliance develops and implements compliance policies and procedures. Researches compliance issues and recommends changes that assure compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintains relationships with government agencies and internal stakeholders. Coordinates site visits for regulators, coordinates implementation and compliance with corrective action plans, as needed. Responsible for hiring, training, and firing staff. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves team performance. Provides input into functions strategy.. Job Responsibilities:. Develops standard processes and procedures to manage market conduct exams and respond to regulator inquiries.. Creates effective annual work plans that include compliance assessments in key risk areas.. Ensures quality and timely documentation and management of issues and opportunities to closure in ESP (Archer GRC system).. Builds strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulators such as State DOI, Department of Labor, and Federal entities.. Builds a high performance team that includes clear roles/responsibilities, training and a quality assurance program to monitor and improve team performance.. Additional skillsets and capabilities:.
