Our role …

We are seeking a Sales/Customer Planning Manager with a passion for Pets and one who can share in our mission of strengthening the bond between all pets and their families by developing innovative, trustworthy, and affordable products!

This position will serve as the primary communication link between our internal functional teams, including Customer Planning, and the Customer Business Managers (CBM’s). They will be responsible for working closely with the CBM’s to develop customer-specific strategies and plans that achieve assigned sales targets and stay within approved funding. They will ensure that all CBM’s are fully informed regarding brand strategies and plans, new item launches, item maintenance, and change meeting information, marketing programs, competitive updates, and other important topics. The Sales/Customer Planning Manager will be responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient communication process with the Customer Business Manager’s that is consistently correct, clear, and concise.

This position is located at our Secaucus, NJ Corporate Headquarters.

You will …

Responsible for working directly with the CBM’s to understand key business drivers by customer

Develop strategies for our Top 20 strategic customers that achieve short and long term sales, profit and share objectives for Hartz

Ensure Hartz brand strategies are executed with key strategic customers to meet and exceed established performance KPI’s

Work with the CBM’s to develop and maintain accurate customer business plans that achieve annual sales targets

Lead efforts to develop sales to target gap closing opportunities with the CBM’s

Communicate customer-specific updates to Customer Planner to support internal Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process

Leverage promotion evaluation from the Customer Planner to help guide the CBM’s on how to optimize future promotional planning

Maximize the return on approved category funding invested with customers through ongoing review with the CBM’s

Responsible for maximizing return on approved slotting budget through planning with CBM’s

Act as the main conduit for communication between the CBM’s and internal cross-functional teams

Attend weekly brand meetings and provide updates on specific customers

Ensure the health of inventory (HOI) by executing customer-specific actions per direction from Customer Planning Director

Performs other duties or projects as assigned

You’ll bring …

5+ years in Sales/Customer Planning experience with 3+ years in Customer Development direct selling roles

Successful track record in managing the business for CPG with key strategic customers, pet manufacturer experience preferred

Bachelors Degree in a business-related discipline preferred

Experience developing and delivering sales presentations to key strategic customers

Experience using syndicated data to support business development and sales efforts

Ability to focus on priorities in a dynamic environment and consistently deliver results

Strong communication and analytical skills

Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and TM1 or other financial reporting tools
