We are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager with a passion for Pets and one who can share in our mission of strengthening the bond between all pets and their families!
This position will manage all activities in the Accounts Payable function. The Accounts Payable Manager will ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, and maintain accurate records. They will review applicable accounting reports and accounts payable aging to ensure accuracy.
This position is located at our Secaucus, NJ Corporate Headquarters.
You will …Ensure all vendors are created accurately, and all invoices are input timely, coded correctly, approved appropriately, and paid timely
Manage and support payment activities of AP team
Pay ACH and Wires through Oracle/ERP system
Be responsible for the collection and filing of all vendor W-9’s and annual processing of 1099’s
Verify and resolve discrepancies for Invoices on Hold and contact vendors if necessary
Have a thorough understanding of internal controls as they relate to AP function
Support the team in improving internal controls
Execute compensating controls and reviews to ensure processes are followed, and transactions are accurate and timely to ensure compliance to company policies
Process PO and non-PO related invoices and check requests in a timely manner
Respond to payment inquiries from vendors
Perform month-end AP closing duties, including journal entries, accrual entries, and reconciliations
Provide supporting documentation for external audits
Have a solid understanding of accounting and general ledger coding
Lead and define the work of the AP staff, develop work plans, and assess their performance
Seek continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities to improve the speed and effectiveness of payment activities
Partner with various internal departments to implement processes and policies that contribute to accurate payment and accounting
Provide reports and documentation, and answer accounting process questions for internal and external audits, as required
Perform other duties or projects as assigned
You’ll bring …Minimum 3 years of experience managing the Accounts Payable process and staff
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Extensive knowledge of accounting, management principles, and Accounts Payable procedures
Advanced knowledge of Excel (V lookup, Pivot table, etc.)
Proficient with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Oracle preferred
High degree of accuracy, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as a collaborator on a team
Willing to take on additional responsibilities and grow the team
