As a part of an active and growing department, the Subsidiary Rights Manager is responsible for overseeing a combination of domestic and UK rights for all of Harlequin's Trade program and will report to the Director, Subsidiary Rights and Harlequin Audio.
* Represent titles from the Harlequin Trade program: Hanover Square Press, Park Row Books, Graydon House Books, HQN, Carina Press, MIRA and Inkyard (our Young Adult list). * Identify potential subsidiary rights opportunities and make presentations to potential. * Negotiate and sell both domestic and UK rights: UK, Audio, Book Club, Condensation, and other rights to be determined. * Prepare for and attend international book fairs.
* Minimum of 3 years of Subsidiary Rights experience, including experience in attending book fairs * Proven track record in selling UK and other rights * Ability to work independently and as a part of a small, tight-knit team * Experience in preparing selling presentations, including pitch letters to coagents and licensees, and in preparing rights guides for book fairs * Compelling verbal and written communication skills, both with individuals and groups * Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills, with strong attention to detail * Should have strong contacts within the UK rights community and scouting agencies
